Outline of OECC
- 1)Name:
- Overseas Environmental Cooperation Center, Japan(OECC)
- 2)Date of establishment:
- OECC was established on March 29, 1990 and is a public corporation under the supervision of Environmental Cooperation Office of Ministry of the Environment (formerly Environment Agency, Japan)
- 3)Objectives:
- The Objective of OECC is to promote global environment conservation. Recognizing unprecedented international interdependence, OECC will encourage environmental conservation through cooperative activities, researches, public relations, etc. on overseas environmental issues.
- 4)Activities:
- Basic survey and strategic studies concerning environmental conservation overseas
- Research, technology development concerning the environmental conservation overseas, and dissemination of the results of them;
- Cooperation for overseas environmental conservation activities, such as those for human resource development, conducted by the state and other agencies;
- Organization of, and participation in, symposia and international conferences concerning the environmental conservation overseas;
- Supporting the environmental protection avtivities overseas;
