OECC Beijing Office
OECC Beijing Office
The Overseas Environmental Cooperation Center and Ministry of Environmental Protection in the People’s Republic of China was established through an accord regarding cooperative efforts in environmental protection. The OECC has established an office on the Sino-Japan Friendship Center for Environmental Protection site with the aim of collecting a broad range of information regarding China’s latest environmental policies and their development.
Message from Beijing
China’s environmental initiatives have reached a historic turning point. The OECC office in Beijing was established in June 2006 in light of this situation. Since then, we have been gathering a wide range of information regarding China’s latest environmental policies, issues, and trends, on topics such as energy conservation/emissions reduction, the National Eleventh Five-year Plan for Environmental Protection to protect China’s environment, ecocivilization, establishment of resource-conscious and environmentally-friendly communities, restoration of rivers and lakes, the 1st National Pollution Census, the Water Pollution Act and Energy Conservation Law amendments, the Green Olympic Movement, announcement of the Recycling Economy Promotion Law, and setting up the new Ministry of Environmental Protection. These and other efforts are reported in a monthly bulletin called the China Environmental Report (Served only in Japanese).
It is our great pleasure to continue serving as Japan’s source of environmental information in China as well as an OECC Japan-China contact point, which is one of our key roles. We are grateful for your continued support as we establish even stronger amicable ties between our two countries for more effective cooperation on environmental issues.
