Climate Change
At COP28 in 2023, the first Global Stocktake was held to review progress on the Paris Agreement, with countries agreeing to transition away from fossil fuels for the first time. To achieve the 1.5°C goal, GHG emissions must peak by 2025 and countries are required to reduce emissions for all gases across every industrial sector, triple renewable energy generation capacity, and double energy efficiency. In order to realize the goal of a decarbonized society, Japan needs to strengthen its domestic measures and advance international efforts such as expanding JCM partner countries.
Building on its proven track record and extensive networks, OECC provides comprehensive support for climate policy development and the introduction and operation of low-carbon technologies, working together with partner countries and companies.
