How to access the Green Climate Fund for the private sector

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is an operating entity of the Financial Mechanism of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The purpose of the GCF is to make a significant and ambitious contribution to the global efforts towards attaining the goals set by the international community to combat climate change. The fund is also promoting the paradigm shift toward low-emission and climate –resilient development pathway by providing supports to developing countries to limit or reduce their Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and to adapt to the impacts of climate change, taking into account the needs of those developing countries particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change.

OECC developed a booklet, “How to access the Green Climate Fund for the private sector” under the project supported by the Ministry of Environment Japan in JFY 2018. The booklet contains substance of basic information on GCF, how to access funding, GCF investment criteria and tips and tricks for writing a winning proposal, which will facilitate accessing to GCF.
