Area of Activity

OECC positions ‘climate change’, ‘circular economy’ and ‘biodiversity’ as the three pillars comprising areas of activity, with 10 key issues in these areas serving as priority OECC activities.

The following are the main foci of OECC’s activities:

Integrated Approach: Contribution Toward Building a Sustainable Society

Developing countries need integrated solutions to local environmental challenges such as waste management and prevention of water and air pollution, in addition to global environmental challenges such as climate change. In order to effectively promote the introduction of private-sector funding, share Japan’s experience and know-how in pollution control, build a society that is resilient to decarbonization and climate change, and deploy environmental technologies and infrastructure necessary for transition to a circular economy, a comprehensive approach that combines a wide range of domestic and foreign stakeholders is required. OECC is developing its business activities in a strategic and cross-sectoral manner, regardless of its area of activity, in order to realize a decarbonized and sustainable society worldwide.
